What the last hour of light is for
The last hour is when a ground tells the truth. Stone warms, leaves turn toward metal, and a wall that was merely correct becomes the reason for the house.
We plan openings for that hour. A window is a view at a time of day, in a season you actually inhabit. Summer glare and winter gold are different materials, and the plan should know which one you came for.
Copper light is what happens when a west-facing yard is left clear. The studio’s work is often a subtraction: one less bed, one cleaner line, so the hour has a place to land.
